“Strictly” – but not as you know it!

Posted on 1st September, 2015 in News

Since January 2014 a new type of dance fitness class has been held in Westonzoyland – Strictly Dancefit teaching all the ballroom moves but without partners!

Villagers were in for a surprise – Strictly Come Dancing had just finished its fever-pitched run on TV and hot on its heels came – the Westonzoyland version!Strictly wzl image

Yes, ballroom dancing had arrived in a new way!

No partners?  Surely not!  How would this work?

Well, work it did and those who attended the classes will agree that it really doesn’t take Two to Tango!

Over the following months, music of all types was heard coming from the school hall as class members learned to salsa, cha cha, rock ‘n’ roll, jive, samba, lindyhop, rumba and even charleston!  And learn they did!

By the end of term, Thursday evenings had become a great source of fun, not taken too seriously and, as a bonus, ballroom dancers were emerging!

Dancing is a  “fab-u-lous”  way to improve all aspects of fitness and co-ordination . (No sequins or fake tan required!)

As Strictly Fever is again about the hit our TV screens, join us in the CHURCH HALL (new venue) even if you have the proverbial two left feet.  Beginners are welcome.

Sessions are £4 pay-as-you-go. (£2 first session for newcomers)
