Notice of Election for Somerset County Council

The Notice of election for Somerset County Council have been published in Sedgemoor.  Sedgemoor’s election team administers the election, due to be held on May 4, on behalf of Somerset County Council.

Notices were published yesterday (Monday, March 20) regarding the Somerset County Council divisions in the Sedgemoor District Council area as follows: Brent; Bridgwater East and Bawdrip; Bridgwater North and Central; Bridgwater South; Bridgwater West; Burnham on Sea North; Cannington; Cheddar; Highbridge and Burnham South; Huntspill; King Alfred and North Petherton.

Nominations for the election are now open and forms can be obtained from Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 3AR.  The closing date for nominations is April 4, no later than 4pm.

Residents should soon be receiving their polling card for the forthcoming election and are advised to check their poll card to make sure that they know which polling station they need to go to on Thursday, May 4th .

If you don’t receive a poll card, you may not be registered to vote. You need to register to vote by April 13th to make sure that you have your say at the ballot box.  The easiest way to register is by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
