Public consultation into the proposed dredging of the River Parrett between Stathe and Burrowbridge.

The scheme is being led for Somerset Rivers Authority (SRA) by the Parrett Internal Drainage Board (IDB), working closely with the Environment Agency and Natural England.

REGULATION 10 PUBLICITY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENTS – THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (LAND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT WORKS) REGULATIONS 1999 (AS AMENDMED)

This notice has been prepared by the Parrett Internal Drainage Board (‘Parrett IDB’) in accordance with the requirements of The Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 (as amended), referred to as ‘the Regulations’ in this notice.

The Parrett IDB has prepared an Environmental Statement (ES) to support proposed improvement works, comprised of dredging and associated works, along 2.2km of the River Parrett between Stathe Bridge and Burrowbridge.

The ES, in accordance with Regulation 10 (1)(b), is available on the Parrett IDB web page:

and is available for viewing during normal opening times between 4 July 2019 and 3 August 2019 at:

Langport Library, Whatley, Langport, TA10 9RA; and Parrett IDB, Bradbury House, 33-35 Market Street, Highbridge, TA9 3BW

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works may submit them by post or by email to the Parrett IDB between 4 July 2019 and 3 August 2019:

Where no objection in relation to the likely environmental effects of the works are made between 4 July 2019 and 3 August 2019, the Parrett IDB may determine that the proposed improvement works should proceed following the Parrett IDB undertaking the assessment specified in Regulation 12 (2).
