Somerset Fit for My Future Independent Analysis Report: mental health public consultation

Posted on 19th August, 2020 in News

Following the conclusion of our public consultation on the proposed relocation of adult in-patient mental health beds from Wells to Yeovil on 12 April 2020, Participate Ltd have been undertaking an independent analysis of all the feedback received.

The independent analysis report has been published today on the Fit for My Future website: www.fitformyfuture.org.uk, it can also be found at the bottom of this article.

Our original intention was to share the independent analysis of all the feedback received during the consultation at a public event in Wells. Given the current Government guidelines on face to face gatherings we are unable to do this face to face.

We have, therefore, arranged a virtual feedback sharing event for 7pm on Wednesday 02 September via MS Teams Live Events. People can book their place either by emailing somccg.fitformyfuture@nhs.net or ringing 01935 384119.

The event will be hosted by David Heath, Non-Executive Director, who will welcome all attendees, set out the purpose of the event and how it will run, outline how the Q&A function will work and introduce the presenters.

Dr Peter Bagshaw (GP and clinical lead for mental health, autism and learning disability services) and Andrew Keefe (deputy director for mental health, autism and learning disability commissioning) will present the independent analysis of the consultation feedback.

This will include:

  • the consultation proposals
  • how we ran the consultation
  • how the feedback was analysed
  • potential equality impacts
  • key themes from the feedback – for and against the proposal
  • suggestions for amending or enhancing the proposal
  • other issues people suggested were important
  • feedback on the consultation itself

David Heath will then feedback back a summary of the questions and comments received during the event, with clarification and answers where available. The next steps will then be outlined and the event will finish.
