BUS IT Campaign – please help us safeguard four key routes

Posted on 6th August, 2024 in News

Last year we launched our Bus It campaign to safeguard four key bus routes serving Somerset communities.

This saw passenger numbers increase across the four at risk routes – the 54/58/58A/25 and 28 and they have been safeguarded for the next year.

However, our efforts don’t stop there…

We have now launched our next phase of the Bus It campaign and would like your support in spreading the word.

Could you assist in the following ways?

  • Share our digital campaign materials on your social networks
  • Share your local knowledge with us about good places to target and channels to use to reach your residents.
  • Act as advocates for bus use and its benefits in terms of cost, the environment and the wider community for whom bus travel is their only option.

It’s vitally important that we continue to promote these services and with bus fares set to remain at £2 for a single journey until December 2024, we want to work with you again to promote the affordability of bus travel and encourage more people to make the most of the 58, 54, 28, and 25.

Our campaign focuses on the activities you can enjoy and the wonderful places and landscapes you can explore along the routes including trekking in Exmoor National Park, a day on the beach in Minehead, and visiting the Levels and Yeovil Country Park.

We have attached the campaign artwork, please share the relevant digital file to your communities and spread the word on your social networks.

Don’t forget to tell us if you know of any hidden gems and local adventures, we can shout about along one of these routes on social media.

We kicked off the campaign with the focus on dogs going free – you can read the release here:

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information or to feedback on how we can optimise our campaign.
