Next steps for Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Scheme
An information session, designed to update people about the latest development with the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier Scheme is being held on Monday, July 10th at Bridgwater Town Hall between 1400 hrs and 1900 hrs. Staff from the Environment Agency and Sedgemoor District Council will be on hand to answer questions and listen to any comments or concerns.
The scheme will reduce the tidal flood risk to Bridgwater and surrounding areas for the next 100 years and has a construction target date of 2024. The proposed site for the barrier is between Express Park and Chilton Trinity. The scheme will also include improvements to the flood defences downstream of the barrier.
