Since the winter floods of 2013/2014 and the creation of a Flood Action Plan (attached), one of the key elements of work was to increase the capacity of the Sowy/King Sedgemoor Drain. To date works have been carried out at Beer Wall to increase conveyance under the A372, dredging under the road bridge at Parchey and railway bridge at Dunball and the removal of a restrictive structure linked to the original tidal gate at Dunball. The next phase of works is to create formal flood banks of an equal height from Parchey to Monks Leaze Clyce Sluice along with some environmental enhancements. We...
